Employee Spotlight: Rick Michalec
“Do what’s right, not what’s easy … even when no one’s looking.”
This is Rick’s personal motto, and it also sums up his approach to doing business. “I began using it when I was in the U.S. Army,” says Rick. And although it’s been 11 years since Rick retired from his military career in reconnaissance, he still uses the motto to guide his actions.
Rick is responsible for identifying business opportunities and developing key customer relationships. Though he is our newest D&B sales rep, he has more than a decade of experience in the plating industry. “I like the people I get to work with,” says Rick. “Plus, I really appreciate all that D&B has done to ensure we’re able to meet customer deadlines. From state-of-the-art equipment to quality training for all employees, D&B is investing today to ensure a strong future.”
In his free time, Rick enjoys playing golf and traveling, especially to Germany to visit his daughter and to Mankato where his son attends college. And while his kids are always in his thoughts, his dog Lucy, a German Shorthaired Pointer, is by his side. “She’s my best buddy and constant companion,” says Rick.
